Boogers

When did it become common place for me to grab another person by the nose and squeeze the snot out of it? I will tell you when, June, 2002. Meredith my oldest child was about 3 months old and had her first head cold. The sight of her sitting there with boogers running down her face was enough for me to overcome all of my inhibitions and just reach in and take care of the situation.

I did not become completely callus until David was born. For the first 18 months of his life I referred to him as "Snots" The little devils nose ran constantly. It was painful. Eventually he grew out of it. However at 2 years and some months the kid still can't blow his nose and every once and awhile I find myself without a tissue going in for another handful.

This week has been Thomas' coming out party as far as Boogers go. Big yellow, sticky boogers that clog his nose shut by morning. What do you do with them when you are caught with out a tissue? I don't know what you do, but I wipe them on the kids leg, or his sock. It all comes out in the wash.

My single friends are absolutely disgusted with everything this conversation entails. The people with kids know what I am talking about. How do you feel about it? Do you employ the bulb sucker they gave you at the Hospital? How does it work for you?
While I have your attention go to The Tutu Boutique.

Eventually they do start taking care of it themselves, that's when you find yourself saying, "Don't eat that!!!" However, recent research shows that ingesting nasal secretions is actually healthy... ewwwwwww LOL
